this picture by Mark Adams really spoke to me at the gallery the texture in this photo was amazing to me
all the photos in this collection are c-type prints silver based colour enlargements from 10 by 8 inch kodak portra 400 negatives mounted on dibond the images look so good mounted like this almost like they are so light there floating but also such a nice shine to them like they a coated with glass.the size that this picture was printed really let you see all the detail and the texture in the picture
the idea about this series is to recreate a painting by william hodges of one of the spots where captain cook landed on one of his voyages of new zealand

both of these pictures are mounted on mat board behind non reflective glass the way that these photos have been presented gives them a slightly classic feel which works nicely with how the photos are in black and white
thses pictures are a kind of optical illusion the mounts look quite big but in fact they are not that big you can tell this by the tyre tracks in the dirt this is really quite a clever trick
i dont know what the story behind this photo is but it got to be a funny story
