exercise 1 

for this exercise  we had to open this photo in photoshop and use the greypoint picker to colour correct this picture i quite like how the purple sets off the flowers

we had to use the curves tool in photo shop to cool down this image  then we had to crop it i think

for this exercise we had to colour correct this image using photo shop layers and remove the lifght stand i know i did this but i just cant find the files

week 6 research

Richard billingham   
  Richard Billingham (born 25 September 1970) is an English photographer and artist who is best known for his photobook Ray's A Laugh which documents the life of his alcoholic father Ray, and obese, heavily tattooed mother, Liz.

I used the book  rays a laugh for my research I really like how it gave a glimpse in to his family life also his use of natural light   in a lot of his photos like in the first photo the light from the window gives this picture a nice overexposed background and in the second pic these some flash caught in the picture frame behind his father you cant really see it in the photo I took

Wer Liebe wagt lebt morgen. Ostfildern-Ruit: Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, Wolfgang Tillmans (born 1968) is a German fine-art photographer. His diverse body of work is distinguished by observation of his surroundings and an ongoing investigation of the photographic medium’s foundations.

In 2000, Tillmans was the first photographer - and also the first non-English person - to be awarded the Tate annual Turner Prize. In 2009, he was awarded the Kulturpreis der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie (The Culture Prize of the German Society for Photography) and in 2015 the Hasselblad Award.^[1] He lives in Berlin and London.
 for my research I used the two books below  google and Wikipedia   I found tillmans work to be very  ..informal and a bit strange at times but his use of cloure in these to photos really caught my eye like with the reds  from the ladies shirt and hair are so complemtery with purple floor in the first picture

I realy love how these to pic show contrasting clours that work so well to gather im finding that I really like what I seen from this artist so far

 

week 4 research

man ray  

"Legendary Photography, painter, and maker of objects and films, Man Ray was on the most versatile and inventive artists of this century. I realy love these two pictures how they seem to be out of fousces but you can still see so much detail I would love to know how he does this

week 6 flash

direct flash 
for this exercise  we had to use the flash to fill in a showy area

i tried this exercise a few times in different areas  these were the best in my opinion i think  this is going to be a very useful skill for my micro  photography

bounce flash 

for this exercise we had to take some pictures with the flash pointed in dirfrent directions pointed straight up with a bounce card then straight up at a low roof  this 1 didn't work because the roof was to high pointed at a wall pointed behind  and then bounced off a reflector

im not sure if this was off the roof or with no flash

this exercise was a bit hard to get but I ended up with some very cool pictures

 

 

camera use week 7 -studio gels

for this exercise we organialy had a 3 point lighting set up but that wasn't working well so we went o a 4 light set up  I don't have any of these pictures I only got the last set up we did with to lights a red and a blue

i took this photo between charges of the lights i like it for some reason







i edited this photo to see if i could pull some detail in to this picture and now i like it even more

these are some of the best shots i got from this shot 

 

week 6 three point lighting self directed task

 

for this exercise I was going to use the first photo then I found this photo with the bunny so I thought why not combine them so I did 

for this exercise I got my sister to stand in her door way with her bird Murphy my sister has this piece of blue fabric on her door so I thought this would be a good backdrop for the lighting set up I used the light in her room for a back light behind the fabric then I used my  cameras built in flash  and then I added my led light I just got off trade me and this is how it turned out  

 

i edited these to photos in camera raw and photo shop  

for the first 1 i just cropped it in camera raw 

and for the second 1 i cropped in camera raw and adjusted the tempter in the basis panel then i went to camer raw and used the colour replacement brush in black to make my sisters face black and white but i left her eyes in clourer 

 

this  is my new led light its a  yongnuo  yn0906-ii it said when i brought it was for dslr cameras and was compatible with cannon but it doesn't fire when i push the shutter so i just used it as a constant light
